Palma's boutique hotels live from the character of their old-town buildings: sandstone, patios, rooftops. Their light must tell history – not spell out a chain.
Guests who stay in a restored city palace do not expect airport corridors. They book atmosphere – and rate it in photos that travel the world: the patio at night, the rooftop bar in front of the cathedral, the room in warm evening light. Listed building fabric sets narrow limits for technology; thick walls and vaults demand creative solutions. At the same time the light has to stay economical – boutique rarely means big budgets.
We develop one light signature per house: warm tones on sandstone and lime plaster, patios as glowing hearts, rooftops with glare-free light that respects the view. Rooms get a few intuitive scenes instead of switch batteries. Custom 3D-printed luminaires – often as a small series with local reference – replace interchangeable catalogue products and become part of the story the house tells. Instagram moments included.
