Mallorca's evenings happen outside. A floodlight on the wall destroys exactly the atmosphere that makes them special – layered, warm light creates it.
The classic motion-sensor spotlight turns a terrace into a sports field: glaring light from above, hard shadows, a black garden behind. An inviting outdoor space works with several low levels of light – table light, plant accents, grazed stone walls, a softly lit tree as focal point in the depth. Add Mallorca's conditions: salt air, UV and occasional storms demand materials and mounting that cheap fixtures cannot deliver.
We design from the seating position: no light source hits the eye directly, warm 2200–2700 K throughout, dimmable down to candle level. We specify salt-air-proof materials (IP65+) with accessible drivers, plan cabling for later extensions towards the garden, and set up scenes – 'Dinner', 'Reading', 'Everything off at midnight' – controlled by app or existing smart-home systems.
